Yaa! Points Terms
Version 1 · Updated October 6, 2026
These terms govern Yaa! Points, the credit families trade with on YaaFlip. They are part of the Terms of Service.
What Yaa! Points are, and aren't
- Yaa! Points are a closed-loop credit that exists only on YaaFlip. They are the only thing a toy can be bought with on YaaFlip, and the only thing they can buy is a toy, an avatar item, or nothing.
- Yaa! Points are never money. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed, exchanged or cashed out, cannot be transferred to anyone outside your household, cannot be sold, and are not a deposit, a stored-value account or a gift card. We never pay money to a family for points.
- Points are a license to use a feature of YaaFlip, not property. They earn no interest.
Getting points
- Buying them. A parent buys points with the card on file: one dollar buys one point, in whole dollars, five dollars at a time or more. The first purchase is the activation purchase, which also serves as your parental consent under COPPA. Purchased points land in the family wallet.
- Selling toys. When a kid's toy sells and the drop-off is proven, the toy's price in points lands in that kid's ledger.
- Granted by YaaFlip. We may grant points at our discretion: as goodwill when something went wrong, as the escape-challenge bounty, as one point per decided case to a parent who serves on a neighborhood panel (at most five a month), or in promotions. Granted points follow these terms like any other.
Moving and spending points
- The family wallet and each kid's ledger. Purchases land in the family wallet. A parent moves points from the wallet to a kid, back again, or between kids, in the parent zone. Points on hold cannot be moved.
- Buying a toy. When a kid claims a toy, its price goes on hold at once ("escrow"). If the household is set to "ask me first", the points go on hold when the kid asks and the claim happens when a parent approves. The hold is released to the seller when the seller proves the drop-off, and comes back to the buyer if the seller misses the 3-day deadline, cancels the sale, or loses a dispute, or if a reviewer settles a frozen trade in the buyer's favor.
- "It's not here." A buyer who reveals the pickup code at the drop-off spot and finds no toy may report it within 15 minutes; the buyer's points come back at once. The seller keeps the payment from the drop-off, because the drop-off was proven; YaaFlip bears the difference.
- Avatar items. A kid may spend points on avatar unlocks and items. These spends are final and the points are retired; the items are permanent for that kid's profile and cannot be returned, transferred or refunded.
- Prices. Toys are priced by their sellers at 1 to 5 points. We may change what points cost to buy, what features cost in points, and what we grant, at any time for the future; points you already hold are unaffected.
Refunds
- A failed activation costs nothing. The card is charged only after the identity check succeeds.
- Purchases of points are final once the points are credited, except where the law requires a refund or we choose to make one. If you believe a charge was made in error, email hello@yaaflip.com within 30 days and we will look.
- Chargebacks. If a card payment for points is disputed with the card issuer, we may pause the household while it is resolved and recover the points that were purchased.
Points when an account ends
- If you delete your account, every point in the household — in the wallet and in each kid's ledger — is forfeited. We refuse deletion while a trade is under way so that points on hold are never lost mid-trade.
- If you remove a kid profile, that kid's points move to the family wallet.
- If we close your account for violations of the Terms or the Community Rules, the household's points remain in the account and cannot be used or redeemed. Pending purchases are refunded to the buying households before closure.
- Inactivity. Points do not expire while the account exists.
Our records
The points ledger is append-only: every purchase, sale, hold, release, refund, transfer, spend and grant is a dated entry, and the app shows every entry for your household. The ledger is our record of your points, and it controls in any disagreement. We may correct an entry that was made in error and will tell you when we do.
Taxes
Yaa! Points are not money and trades between families are not sales for money; we do not collect tax on point purchases unless the law requires it, in which case the price at checkout says so. You are responsible for any tax that applies to you.
