Baked in safety features
These aren't settings you have to find. They're how YaaFlip works, for everyone, all the time.
No strangers, no contact
No chat or messaging. At all.
No DMs, no comments. Handoffs don't need coordinating, so there's simply nothing to monitor.
Handoffs are contactless and anonymous.
The seller leaves the toy at the library; the buyer picks it up later with a code. The two families never meet, and neither learns who the other is.
Identity stays hidden
Even usernames stay private.
Your kid's username is only ever shown to real-world friends you've added. Last names, schools, and home addresses appear nowhere.
We don't know where you live.
No home address stored. Your location is defined by which handoff location you select.
Videos are protected
Every video is screened.
Before it's published, each video must pass a checklist to make sure you didn't accidentally show your house number or say a last name. We also reject any videos that are AI generated, not G rated, or off topic. Real people spot-check videos and personally review anything that gets flagged.
Videos never touch the public internet.
Only verified accounts in your local area can see your listing video, and it's permanently deleted after the sale is complete.
A verified, local community
Every member is a verified parent.
Membership is invite-only and requires a real card purchase (meets COPPA regulations), and a photo ID we check once and then destroy. No anonymous accounts, no exceptions.
Friends are local-only.
When linking, we use device GPS and IP addresses to verify that your friends are local.
We're nosy on purpose.
We ask parents to give up a lot of personal info by design. But location and device checks are used to verify identity, not for advertising.

Parent mode is locked behind your PIN so kids can use the app without changing your settings. Some protections are yours to tune — and some are always on, for everyone.

Every grown-up is verified
Signup is invite-only. Kids and parents can invite friends with single-use three-word invite codes.
Verify with device GPS and IP address that you're physically in the neighborhood.
Make a credit card purchase to satisfy COPPA regulations. $5 buys your kid's first 5 Yaa! Points.
Upload a valid ID. We check it to prove you're who you say you are, then delete the image.
