Host Terms
Version 1 · Updated October 6, 2026
These terms are an agreement between YaaFlip and the place that hosts a YaaFlip drop-off spot ("you" and "the host"). The person who applies for the place and runs its host account is the host manager, and agrees to these terms on the place's behalf. It states how hosting works today; when it changes, the host manager is emailed before the change takes effect.
What a drop-off spot is
YaaFlip is an invite-only marketplace where kids trade toys they have outgrown, with their parents in charge of every account. When a toy sells, the seller's family drops it off at a drop-off spot in a bag labeled with two words. The buyer's family comes in, says the two words, and takes the bag home. Your place is the drop-off spot: a counter, a shelf and a few minutes of a staff member's time.
What you agree to do
- Keep a shelf or bin for waiting bags somewhere children can't reach it.
- Take in bags during the hours you told us, and put each one on the shelf as it arrives.
- Hand a bag over only to someone who says the two words written on its label.
- Hold each bag for its pickup window: 14 days from the day it was dropped off.
- Pause your drop-off spot in the app before you close for a holiday, a renovation or any other break, so families with bags on their way get extra time.
- Keep your drop-off spot's hours and instructions up to date in the app.
- Tell us at hello@yaaflip.com about anything that worries you, especially anything about a child's safety.
What you never do
- Never ask a family who they are. Don't ask for a name, an ID, an address, a phone number or anything about a child, and don't write down anything about the people who come in.
- Never make a pickup depend on a purchase, and never sell or advertise to a child at your counter. Families are welcome to shop with you like anyone else, and that choice is theirs.
- Never open, inspect or swap what is in a bag.
- Never hand a bag to someone who doesn't have its words, and never keep a bag past its window for anyone.
- Never photograph or record a family because they came in for a YaaFlip pickup.
What you see
Your host page in the app shows your drop-off spot's status, the bags waiting on your shelf by their two words and their pickup deadlines, and how many drop-offs and pickups your drop-off spot has had. It never shows you a family's name, a kid's name or username, or anything else about who a family is. When fewer than five families have used your drop-off spot, the page says "fewer than 5" instead of a number.
Bags left behind
If nobody picks a bag up within its 14-day window, the trade closes and the bag is yours to deal with: you may donate it or throw it away. Mark it as gone in the app when you do. The seller's family was already paid when they dropped it off, so nobody is owed anything for it.
Money
No money changes hands between you and YaaFlip. You don't pay to host a drop-off spot, and we don't pay you for hosting it. Families trade with Yaa! Points, which never turn into cash and never pass through you.
Care of the bags
The items are toys worth a few Yaa! Points each. You agree to take the same reasonable care of waiting bags that you take of your own things. You aren't responsible for what is inside a bag or for its condition. If a bag goes missing despite reasonable care, tell us: YaaFlip settles it with the families, and you owe nothing.
Pausing, closing and ending
- You can pause your drop-off spot for up to 90 days at a time in the app, and reopen it whenever you are ready. Families with bags on their way get the extra time automatically.
- To close your drop-off spot for good, ask in the app. We close it once no bag is waiting there.
- We may pause or close a drop-off spot, or end your role as its host, at any time — for example, if these terms aren't followed or a family raises a concern. We'll tell you why when we can.
Your account
The host manager's account is an ordinary YaaFlip parent account. Setting it up takes the same steps every parent takes: a card on file, an ID check and the activation charge. A host account doesn't need any kids. A second staff member can join the account the same way a second parent joins a family.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, we'll email the host manager before the change takes effect and show the new version and date on this page. If you keep hosting after that, the new version applies.
